Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome. Nehemiah 4:14

While rebuilding Jerusalem’s wall, Nehemiah’s enemies created constant problems. They mocked the Israelites, lied to the king about them, and threatened their every move. But Nehemiah was not going to waver. He stationed workers along the wall who were armed with spears, swords, and bows. That’s when he shouted this snippet: “Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.” He reminded the people when they were in need of help that they should remember the Lord. Are there ever times in your life when you could use that reminder? Notice that in the snippet he emphasizes God’s greatness. During your day today, whether things are going well or horrible, remember the Lord. He is still great and awesome!

A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God!” Deuteronomy 8:11

Today my prayer includes . . .

thanks for this special blessing:

concern for this special person:

petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

Welcome God’s grace within my heart,
Never from Jesus may I part,
Never forget His love to me,
Coming so rich, so free.
Welcome the crown laid up in store,
After my conflict shall be o’er,
Welcome a home with Christ above,
Bright with eternal love.
