This work had been done with the help of our God. Nehemiah 6:16 (’84)

In only 52 days Nehemiah’s crew had completed a nearly impossible project. Despite many setbacks, the entire wall with its ten gates and doors was rebuilt. God’s temple inside the city was now safe from outside invaders. Nehemiah tells us that when the neighboring enemies heard about it, they were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that “this work had been done with the help of God.” Today’s comment by Nehemiah was typical of how he lived. Nehemiah’s life was always attached to the Lord. His actions and thoughts were all connected with God. One couldn’t be around Nehemiah for a moment without noticing his love for the Lord. Do you live your life like that? Do those around you know you are a child of God? Do friends, neighbors, and even strangers see in you a reflection of the Savior?

A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“I don’t need everyone to hear me say I’m a Christian, but I do need everyone to see Christ in me!”

Today my prayer includes . . .

thanks for this special blessing:

concern for this special person:

petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

Help me henceforth, O God of grace,
Help me on each occasion,
Help me in each and every place,
Help me through Jesus’ passion;
Help me in life and death, O God,
Help me through Jesus’ dying blood;
Help me as Thou hast helped me!
