Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Exodus 14:14

This snippet continues from yesterday. The Israelites were in a difficult situation with the Red Sea before them and the Egyptian army behind them. Moses commanded the people to be calm and wait for the Lord to rescue them. Today the Lord responds to their crying. As Moses stretched his staff over the waters they began to separate. God was about to perform a miracle that would never be forgotten. The waters parted and a dry roadbed appeared. God commanded the people to stop fretting and start moving, as if to say, “Don’t let your problems paralyze you!” Sometimes Satan tries to let our problems bog us down and keep us from moving forward. In those times we tend to look back with regret. But the Lord spurs us on as he did the Israelites by telling them to “move on.” We should follow Paul’s words in Philippians 3:14: “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

 A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“Don’t give up on God. He will never give up on you!”

Today my prayer includes . . .

          thanks for this special blessing:

          concern for this special person:

          petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

O children, go forward, tho’ danger surrounds you,
Tho’ foes press upon you in battle array;
Your leader is present, and He will protect you,
The victory is certain, you must win the day.
