The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14

Has anyone ever told you, “Don’t just stand there, do something?” Today we see the opposite. The Israelites ran into a roadblock. They left Egypt and were on their way to the Promised Land. Things were fine until they realized that the Lord led them into a difficult situation. They were trapped between mountains, water, and a lot of angry Egyptians. Moses was confused, yet he knew that God would not forsake them. And so he shouted to the people, “Don’t just do something, stand there! God will handle this.” Moses knew that God is never caught without a plan. He always knows the next step, because he has been there already. When you find yourself hemmed in on all sides, follow God’s direction. “Just be still. I am here. Everything will turn out as planned!”

A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“We don’t need to know the whole plan.

We just need to know the one who does!”

Today my prayer includes . . .

          thanks for this special blessing:

          concern for this special person:

          petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

Yes, dear Lord, I will be still,
I will trust Thee ever;
I’ll submit to all Thy will,
Cling to Thee forever.
Lord, Thou knowest what is best,
Confident in this I’ll rest,
Till I dwell with all the blest,
And with Thee in Heaven.
