The LORD was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did. Genesis 39:23

We read in Psalm 46:11, “The Lord Almighty is with us.” Isaiah 41:10 says, “Do not fear, for I am with you.” And James 4:8 states, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” Living in a nation of plenty and luxury, we get used to things when they are going quite well. But such is not always the case. Joseph is a prime example. Although he loved the Lord, his life was filled with strife. He was hated, sold, jailed, and forgotten. Yet through it all he remained steadfast, and “the Lord was with Joseph.” Twice in Genesis 39 we discover that same phrase. When Moses wrote those words, the Israelites were also going through some tough times in the wilderness. But he wrote them for us too. Through all our trials and misfortunes we too must admit that through it all, “the Lord was with us!”

A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“When it seems like things are falling apart,

they are actually falling together!”

Today my prayer includes . . .

          thanks for this special blessing:

          concern for this special person:

          petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

When the road we tread is rough,
Let us bear in mind,
In our Savior strength enough
We may always find;
Though the fighting may be tough
Let our motto be: We will own the victory!
