Question: “Who is it you are looking for?”

Today’s question is from John 20:15

It’s no fun realizing you have been separated from someone you love. Mary Magdalene was concerned when she realized she had been separated from someone she loved. A few days after Jesus’ burial, Mary returned to the tomb, but when she looked inside, Jesus was missing. The angels in the tomb asked Mary why she was crying, and she told them that someone had taken Jesus away. Then she turned and saw a man standing beside her. “Who is it you are looking for?” the man asked. She answered, “Sir, please tell me where they have taken my Lord.” Then the man said to her, “Mary,” and at once she knew that the man was Jesus. Can you imagine Mary’s joy when she realized Jesus was standing beside her? Sometimes we feel like we’ve lost Jesus. Sometimes we ask, “Where is God when I really need him?” Just as Jesus showed Mary he was there for her, so he promises to be with you. When Jesus seems to be missing in your life, he says, “Who is it you are looking for? I was here all the time!”

 A verse to remember:

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you!”

Deuteronomy 31:8

Today my prayer includes . . .

          thanks for this special blessing:

          concern for this special person:

          petition for this special problem:

A closing verse:

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,

Why should my heart feel lonely and long for heaven and home;

When Jesus is my portion, a constant friend is He;

His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me.
