Today’s question is from Job 38:4
The book of Job is written like a play with only a few characters. We begin with God and Satan discussing the faithfulness of Job, and then we see the many difficult tests he went through. Afterward he is joined by his four “friends” who try to explain why this happened. They frequently question God’s ways. Finally the Lord has his say. In chapters 38 to 41 he explains his greatness. By asking Job a series of 70 probing questions, he shows his sovereignty, power, wisdom, and might. Today’s snippet leads the way. If ever you question God’s motives, sit down with Job and review these four chapters and then take comfort knowing you are in safe and loving hands!
A verse to remember:
“You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know!”
Job 42:3 (Job’s response)
Today my prayer includes . . .
thanks for this special blessing:
concern for this special person:
petition for this special problem:
A closing verse:
How marvelous God’s greatness, how glorious His might!
To this the world bears witness in wonders day and night.
In form of flower and snowflake, in morn’s resplendent birth,
In afterglow at even, in sky and sea and earth.
