Question: “Why do you worry about clothes?”

Today’s question is from Matthew 6:28

Some people seem to worry about everything! Jesus realizes that there are many things that cause us to worry. He knows that people have difficult lives. Yet sometimes we spend too much time worrying about things God said he would take care of. God’s Word assures us that he will protect us; that he will only allow things to come our way that are for our good, and that there are far better times ahead. He also promises to hear each of our prayers. In fact, he says he knows what we need even before we ask him. Jesus asks us why we worry about clothes, our next meal, or our health. And then he gives us the perfect answer: “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself” (Matthew 6:33,34).

A verse to remember:

“God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him!”

1 Peter 5:7 (CEV)

Today my prayer includes . . .

          thanks for this special blessing:

          concern for this special person:

          petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

Be not dismayed whate’er betide, God will take care of you;
Beneath His wings of love abide, God will take care of you.

All you may need He will provide, God will take care of you;
Nothing you ask will be denied, God will take care of you.
