Today’s question is from Ecclesiastes 1:3 (CEV)
We marvel at the wisdom of Solomon. As we read through Proverbs and Ecclesiastes we realize that this man was a deep thinker. He looked at life from many angles as he searched for the meaning behind it all. At the very beginning of Ecclesiastes Solomon questions the purpose of life. For the worldly it seems their sole purpose is to get as much as possible in as short a time as possible. After all, it serves no purpose after one’s gone. And so the drum beat of striving for more and more becomes their daily mantra. But God’s people are different. Children of God see each day as a new adventure of walking with God, wanting to please him, and sharing his love with those around us. Be assured that you do have a lot to show for your hard work here on this earth!
A verse to remember:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters!” Colossians 3:23
Today my prayer includes . . .
thanks for this special blessing:
concern for this special person:
petition for this special problem:
A closing verse:
I want to be a worker for the Lord,
I want to love and trust His holy Word,
I want to sing and pray,
Be busy every day
In the vineyard of the Lord.
