Today’s question is from Job 14:14 (’84) |
Is there any question more important than this one? There isn’t a person who has lived or will live that does not at some point contemplate this question. We are accustomed to living with death. It is all around us. We see it in the plant and animal world. Things die. But what about people? Is there something about a person that makes him or her different? We know the answer. We know that our soul will live on. It is the one thing that never dies. And Job knew that too. He answers his own question as he continues, “I will wait for my renewal to come.” Things of this world will all pass away, but you will live on. Your mansion is being readied for you. Meanwhile, wait for your renewal.
A verse to remember:
“After my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!”
Job 19:26,27
Today my prayer includes . . .
thanks for this special blessing:
concern for this special person:
petition for this special problem:
A closing verse:
There is joy within my soul today,
And my life is filled with wondrous light;
From the throne of Him who reigns above,
Comes peace that makes my pathway bright.
