Question: “If God is for us who can be against us?”

Today’s question is from Romans 8:31

The Apostle Paul once posed this question. It is quite rhetorical in nature. Paul was no stranger to strife. He knew well what he was saying here. In the first part of the snippet we realize that God is indeed for us. He adopted us. He protects us. He has his hand on our shoulder. He listens to us, comforts us, and loves us. Then what could possibly be against us? There is nothing in Satan’s arsenal that will defeat us. Every scheme and plan he has will end in failure. All the opposition to us is doomed, because we live under the protection of Almighty God. Jesus said it beautifully in Luke 12:4 (CEV), “Don’t be afraid of people. They can kill you, but after that, there is nothing else they can do.” No one will ever be able to overcome the love that God has for you.

A verse to remember:

“Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith!”

1 John 5:4

Today my prayer includes . . .

          thanks for this special blessing:

          concern for this special person:

          petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

If God Himself be for me, I may a host defy;

For when I pray, before me, my foes, confounded, fly.

If Christ, my head and master, befriend me from above,

What foe or what disaster can drive me from His love?
