Was it chance or the hand of God? Let’s look at the life of Joseph. Was it chance or God’s plan that Jacob gave his son a beautiful coat? Was it chance or the hand of God that the caravan carrying Joseph was heading to Egypt? Was it chance or God’s plan that was instrumental in Joseph’s imprisonment, interpreting dreams, and meeting the Pharaoh? Which was it that put Joseph in the same cell as the cup bearer? Was it chance or the hand of God that a famine caused Jacob and his family to move down to Egypt? Joseph knew the answer. And so do we! We know that God was there all the time. His hand was carefully positioning each puzzle piece in just the right spot. So it is in your life. Spend a moment contemplating how the hand of God has directed your life.
A word of wisdom for a sticky note:
“I know not the way God leads me, but well do I know my guide!”
Martin Luther
Today my prayer includes . . .
thanks for this special blessing:
concern for this special person:
petition for this special problem:
A closing verse:
How little they thought it was he,
Whom they had ill-treated and sold!
How great their confusion must be,
As soon as his name he had told!
“I’m Joseph, your brother,” he said,
“And still to my heart you are dear;
You sold me, and thought I was dead,
But God, for your sakes, sent me here.”
John Newton
