People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7
One wonders if Samuel was somewhat embarrassed. God had sent him to find a replacement for King Saul. As Samuel approached Jesse’s sons, he took one look at Eliab, the eldest, and thought, “This has to be the one. Just look at him!” But the Lord told him, “Do not consider his appearance or his height” (1 Samuel 16:7). (We remember that Saul was known for his impressive height.) It wasn’t until Samuel got to son number eight that God confirmed his choice. Outward appearance doesn’t impress God. Warts, crooked teeth, missing fingers, hairless, or hunchback do not influence the Lord. He looks at the heart. That is the true ID card everyone carries. That’s why David said in Psalm 139:1 (CEV), “You have looked deep into my heart, Lord, and you know all about me.” Today be reminded that regardless of your limitations, imperfections, flaws, or blemishes, the Lord is only interested in your faithful heart!
A word of wisdom for a sticky note:
“For God, our hearts should always have an open house!”

Search me, O God, and know my heart today;
Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts, I pray.
See if there be some wicked way in me;
Cleanse me from every sin and set me free.
