Hope for Each New Day

He is not a man, that he should have regret. 1 Samuel 15:29 (ESV)

Have you ever wondered if perhaps God made a mistake in your life? Maybe a slip-up, miscalculation, or oversight? We live in a world filled with mistakes and regrets. It would be difficult to count them; even in one day. The days of, “and it was very good” ended when Adam and Eve sinned. Today we live in a world of mistakes, blunders, and lots of regrets. Unlike people, God makes no mistakes, and he has no afterthoughts or misgivings because he knows all. It is impossible for him to regret something he did. These words of Samuel give us confidence in the certainty that the Lord’s Word and his will stand forever, unchanging, with no regrets. Might your life be filled with God’s mistakes? Never! You can be assured that, “In all things God works for the good of those who love him” (Romans 8:28).

A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“You are not a mistake. You are part of God’s plan!”

Today my prayer includes . . .

thanks for this special blessing:

concern for this special person:

petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

While mistakes are ever near us,
And our motives miss their aim,
We should not become discouraged,
But believe that Christ, the same
Yesterday, today, tomorrow,
Will forgive us if we come
With a heart of godly sorrow,
And an honest, pleading tongue.
