Hope for Each New Day

As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15

Joshua was a good student of his mentor Moses. Over 35 times Moses told the people to teach the Lord’s ways to their children. Joshua picked up on those instructions and continued to stress that to the Israelites. He told them to teach their families about the days in Egypt; about the angel passing over the houses of the Israelites; the Red Sea and Jordan River parting for God’s people to pass through. We are well aware of this statement by Joshua. Sadly, many parents today have abdicated that responsibility and decided to let their children decide for themselves whom they will serve. This is not God pleasing. He clearly shows his motives in Malachi 2:15, “What does the one God seek? Godly offspring.” That has been God’s plan for the family since the beginning. Pray that Christian parents today would continue to raise godly families.

 A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“Our family is a circle of strength, founded by faith, joined by love, and kept by God!”

Today my prayer includes . . .

thanks for this special blessing:

concern for this special person:

petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

Let children hear the mighty deeds which God performed of old;
Which in our younger years we saw, and which our fathers told.

 Thus shall they learn in God alone their hope securely stands,
That they may ne’er forget His works, but practice His commands.
