The battle is not yours, but God’s. 2 Chronicles 20:15
King Jehoshaphat was in a dilemma. He was about to be attacked by armies far mightier than his. So he did the only thing he could. He prayed! That is when the Lord spoke today’s snippet. God told the king they needn’t lift a finger. He would handle everything. Early the next morning Jehoshaphat and his army headed toward the battleground. There they found every one of the enemy dead on the battlefield. The Lord had certainly kept his word. Those were the same words he spoke to Moses at the Red Sea; to Joshua outside the walls of Jericho, and to Gideon with his tiny army. Each time God assured his people that the battle was his to fight. Many of God’s people face serious crises in their lives when everything seems to build up against them. Rather than fall into hopeless despair, like Jehoshaphat, take your problem to the Lord. He speaks the same words to you. God is a professional! Let him fight your battles for you!
A word of wisdom for a sticky note:
“Let God fight your battles; he hits harder than you can!”
Today my prayer includes . . .
thanks for this special blessing:
concern for this special person:
petition for this special problem:
A closing verse:
Be still, my soul: the Lord is on your side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to your God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: your best, your heavenly friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
