Have them use gold, and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and fine linen.Exodus 28:5 |
Some scientists believe most people can see as many as 10 million different colors. Everywhere around us we enjoy colors like the changing color of the sky, the prism of color in a rainbow, or the indescribable colors in flowers and butterflies. Why did God bless us with the gift of color? God could have made everything dreary gray. Rather, he gave us colors for the same reason he gave us different sounds, smells, tastes, and textures. God’s love wants our world to be a joyful place to live. We will notice brilliant color in heaven as well. The Bible says in paradise we will be dressed in a white gown washed clean by Jesus’ blood. On our heads we will wear a golden crown. What a brilliant sight that will be! Take notice of the colors God puts before your eyes. And tonight when you go to bed, thank God for that blessing!
Digging deeper:
Read Exodus 35:30-36:38. God’s instructions for the tabernacle included many beautiful colors.
Today my prayer includes . . .
thanks for this special blessing:
concern for this special person:
petition for this special problem:
A closing verse:
Colors that charm and ease the eye,
His pencil spread all nature round;
With pleasing blue He arched the sky,
And a green carpet dressed the ground.
