Snippets from Joshua to Job

“The God of heaven will give us success” Nehemiah 2:20

It is amazing how many times the word success is found in the Bible in regard to the lives of God’s people. What Nehemiah saw during his evening spy mission was disheartening. The city walls were in ruin, and every gate was in ashes. The rebuilding would be a monumental task. Yet Nehemiah was confident that it could be done. While there was so much work that lay ahead, several enemies from nearby towns began to criticize and complain about the project. Throughout the building process, these enemies presented real problems. Yet Nehemiah knew his work was the Lord’s work. And when that is the case, it can only end in success. Nehemiah was confident of such success. The very next words that follow this snippet are, “We will start rebuilding.” Know that your life will also be successful when it is placed in the hands of the Lord. You too can be confident that, “The God of heaven will give us success!”

A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“God has not called you to success, but to faithfulness!”

Today my prayer includes . . .

thanks for this special blessing:

 A closing verse:

Crown all our labors with success,
Each one in his own calling bless.
May all we do or think or say
Exalt and praise You, Lord, today!
