Let the trees of the forest sing, let them sing for joy before the LORD. 1 Chronicles 16:33
Can it be that nature praises the Lord? Might this part of God’s creation also be capable of worship? Job 12:7-9 announces, “Ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?” People aren’t the only ones who can praise God. All of his creation harmonizes over his greatness, from the galaxies in heaven to the DNA molecules in our bodies. Nature does indeed praise God. Read David’s beautiful psalm of thanks in 1 Chronicles 16. Then look out your window and enjoy the praises of all creation!
A word of wisdom for a sticky note:
“All of creation joins in a concert of praise!”
Today my prayer includes . . .
thanks for this special blessing:
concern for this special person:
petition for this special problem:
A closing verse:
Praise the Lord, ye fountains of the deeps and seas,
Rocks and hills and mountains, cedars and all trees;
Praise Him, clouds and vapors, snow and hail and fire,
Stormy wind fulfilling only His desire.
Praise Him, fowls and cattle, princes and all kings;
Praise Him, men and maidens, all created things;
For the name of God is excellent alone;
On the earth His footstool, over Heaven His throne.
