Hope for Each New Day

The Lord has taken away your sin. 2 Samuel 12:13

For the better part of a year David hid his horrible sin, hoping he would not be found out. His guilty thoughts must have haunted him greatly. He tried to cover all his tracks. Uriah was dead, and Bathsheba was his legal wife. Might he have pulled it off? It’s impossible to imagine David’s shock when Nathan opened the sore with the nasty details. His sin was exposed to Nathan, and soon it would be open to everyone. Ever since that fateful day, every future Bible story book would repeat the sordid details. But God is merciful and loving. While his heart aches when his children sin, he nevertheless reaches out his hand and announces, “The LORD has taken away your sin.” David needed to hear that just like the rest of us. We all have a “David” in us. Each day we need to hear those words repeated. Open up to God today. Confess your hidden sin and seek his forgiveness!

 A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“Please wipe away my sins.  Wash me clean from all of my sin and guilt!” Psalm 51:1,2 (CEV) The psalm David wrote when his sin was exposed.

 Today my prayer includes . . .

thanks for this special blessing:

concern for this special person:

petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

A father’s hand we felt,
A father’s love we knew;
’Mid tears of penitence we knelt,
And found His promise true.
