The LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:26

Who would have guessed that we would live in a society that no longer communicates face to face? A 2012 survey of over 1,000 teens asked what their favorite way to communicate was. They answered, “in person.” That same question was asked in 2018 and the answer was, “texting.” This is a terrible change in behavior. God intended for us to enjoy being with others–face to face. The Bible frequently mentions the joy of God’s face looking upon us. David wrote in Psalm 27:8,9, “My heart says of you, ‘Seek his face!’ Your face, Lord, I will seek. Do not hide your face from me.” Today’s snippet is called the Aaronic Blessing. It was given by God to Aaron and his sons to speak to the people. Unlike the pagan gods of Canaan who had to be awakened or summoned from elsewhere, our true God’s face is always focused on his people. And it’s turned toward you right now!

A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“Put a smile on God’s face today!”

Today my prayer includes . . .

          thanks for this special blessing:

          concern for this special person:

          petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

God our Father, we would praise Thee,
For Thy loving smile today;
In Thy mercy wilt Thou keep us,
As we go along our way.
