I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people. Leviticus 26:12

Taking walks with God is an expression which is found several times in Scripture. Already in Genesis 3:8 we read, “The man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day.” No doubt God visited his favorite couple many times to walk and talk with them. These words give us comfort in the assurance that the Lord is ever with us. God loved to mention the idea that he will be our God and we will be his people. It is found over 25 times in the Old Testament. God frequently emphasized the fact that if we show him our trust and obedience, he will be ours and we will be his. He loves to say those words to you, too. In your walk with the Lord today, enjoy the truth that he wants to be your God and wants you to be one of his people!

A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“God still takes walks through the garden in the cool of the day with us!”

Today my prayer includes . . .

          thanks for this special blessing:

           concern for this special person:

          petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

Jesus will walk with me in life’s fair morning,
And when the shadows of evening must come;
Living or dying, He will not forsake me.
Jesus will walk with me all the way home.
