The LORD is my strength and my song; and he has become my salvation. Exodus 15:2

The Israelites were awestruck! We cannot imagine what it was like to watch the waters of the Red Sea part. Indeed the God who performed the many plagues in Egypt was a powerful force intent on rescuing his people. As they arrived on the far shore looking back at the sea, Moses and all the people praised God for his goodness. They may have had little to sing about during the past 400 years, but now they broke out in a song of praise and thanks. God had rescued them, and for the moment they acknowledged his greatness. Have you had times in your life when you stood helpless at the Red Sea wondering how you would ever get to the other side? In those moments you need to renew your confidence in the Lord, your only source of strength.

A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“In spite of us, God intends to get us to the other side!”

Today my prayer includes . . .

          thanks for this special blessing:

          petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

Come, ye faithful, raise the strain
Of triumphant gladness;
God hath brought forth Israel
Into joy from sadness;
Loosed from Pharaoh’s bitter yoke
Jacob’s sons and daughters,
Led them with unmoistened foot
Through the Red Sea waters.
