I will help you speak and teach you what you are to say. Exodus 4:12

Have you ever been at a loss for words? Depending on your situation, it’s not always easy to come up with the right words to say. Put yourself in Moses’ sandals. He was 80 years old. For the past 40 years he was a shepherd living in the middle of nowhere. Certainly not a great job for honing your speaking skills or practicing how to communicate. Yet at the burning bush the Lord told him to go to Pharaoh and demand that he let God’s people go. Is it any wonder that he felt inadequate and incapable? God has a way of putting us in situations that stretch our faith; places where we would rather not go. Yet God’s grace is always evident. He would never leave Moses alone with such a task. Instead he assured Moses that he would be there providing Moses with words and actions. God never puts you in places that the two of you can’t handle together. Just as he assured Jeremiah, “I have put my words in your mouth” (Jeremiah 1:9), so he assures you that when you need to say the right thing, the right words will be there.

 A word of wisdom for a sticky note:

“God is not limited by our abilities!”

Today my prayer includes . . .

          thanks for this special blessing:

          concern for this special person:

          petition for this special problem:

 A closing verse:

Lord, speak to me that I may speak in living echoes of Thy tone;
As Thou has sought, so let me seek Thine erring children lost and lone.

 O use me, Lord, use even me, just as Thou wilt, and when, and where,
Until Thy blessed face I see, Thy rest, Thy joy, Thy glory share.
