In the verse just prior to these words we find God taking Abram outdoors to look up at the night sky and try counting the stars. God promised Abram that his descendants would be like the number of stars. There was only one problem. Abram didn’t have any children and he was getting older. Regardless of his circumstance, our snippet says that Abram believed God’s promise. He had faith in God’s words, and as such he was declared a righteous child of God. How can you have that same righteousness? Like Abram, it begins by being a faithful and believing child of God!
A word of wisdom for a sticky note:
“The righteous will live by faith!”
Romans 1:17
Today my prayer includes . . .
thanks for this special blessing:
concern for this special person:
petition for this special problem:
A closing verse:
And God will make righteous
And cleanse from all sin
The one who the chiefest
Of sinners has been:
He sanctifies wholly
And justifies him
Who has faith in the Word of God!
