Today’s question is from Mark 8:36
How much is your soul worth? The Bible mentions several people who bargained with their souls, and they all lost. We think of Lot, Samson, and Judas who made foolish deals with the devil. For some the consequences lasted forever. We should be on the alert for Satan’s schemes. He wants our souls too, and he has a lot of bargaining power. But how can we protect ourselves? God gives each of us a suit of armor. Paul says that God gives us the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the boots of readiness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. He tells us to always be wearing that armor. How much is your soul worth? Jesus said it is worth more than all the riches in the world. “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” Your soul is important. Jesus paid for it with his own blood.
A verse to remember:
“Thorns and snares are in the way of the crooked; whoever guards his soul will keep far from them!”
Proverbs 22:5 (ESV)

Stand up, my soul, shake off your fears,
And put the Gospel armor on,
