Christ gives me the strength to face anything.Philippians 4:13 (CEV) |
This beautiful snippet is very general in nature. It can mean many different things to different people. Our lives are filled with weakness, whether we want to admit it or not. To those suffering physical weakness through pain or illness, God’s strength gets them through the day and provides rest at night. To those suffering from emotional weakness, God assures us he will never give us more than we can handle. To those struggling with the weakness of sin, guilt, or difficult habits, God’s strength gives hope that there is a brighter tomorrow. That’s the beauty of these words. The Savior offers us strength to face anything! Wherever you are at this moment in life, call on the one who wants to shore up your weaknesses and replace them with his strength. We rely on his promise in Isaiah 41:10, “I will strengthen you and help you!”
Digging deeper:
Read Isaiah 41:10-13. Isaiah paints a wonderful picture of God’s strength.
Today my prayer includes . . .
thanks for this special blessing:
concern for this special person:
petition for this special problem:
A closing verse:
Be Thou my strength, for I am full of weakness;
In Thee alone can I be strong at length;
Help me to lean on Thee in trust and meekness;
Be Thou my strength, be Thou my strength.
